Abstract

A method is proposed to reduce the effect of manufacturing errors on the load capacity of a planetary cycloidal gear by replacing a satellite made of solid material (steel or plastic) with a satellite with a plastic core and a steel band on the working profile. A formula is derived for estimating the load factor, which takes into account the influence of manufacturing accuracy on the load capacity of the gear. A method for estimating the contact stiffness of a satellite with a band, as well as the torsional stiffness of the gear, is proposed. The calculation shows that the allowable torque on the gear cage with a banded satellite is more than 3 times greater than the torque on the cage in a gear with a solid satellite, however, the torsional rigidity of the drive can significantly decrease in this case.
