Abstract

Nineteen years ago, in 1948, the National Scholarship Service and Fund for Negro Students (NSSFNS) was established to increase and broaden opportunities for Negro students in interracial colleges. For the largest part of this time, the NSSFNS program was the only systematic national effort towards this goal. It is still the only systematic, national effort exclusively concerned with the articulation of Negro students between high school and college.
