Abstract

The main problem limiting the use of optical underwater data transmission systems is the limited communication range. At the same time, it is known that the use of chaotic broadband signals is potentially capable of increasing the communication range due to the specific features of chaotic systems, and effectively recovering signals even at extremely low signal-to-noise ratios. In this paper, modern methods of wireless underwater communication and the prospects for using the key features of chaotic dynamics for the development of an extended-range underwater wireless optical communication system are considered.
