Abstract

Results are analyzed for an experimental study of phase equilibria within the volume of ternary systems Si–C–Me d , where Me d is W, Ta, Mo, Nb, Hf, and V. Information is summarized for the structure of SiC–Me d Si2 sections, and it is noted that all of them are quasibinary and are classified as a eutectic type. Correlation is established between eutectic temperatures in SiC–Me d Si2 systems, and also between Me d Si2 concentration within eutectic and Me d Si2 melting temperature. Equations are suggested describing this correlation.
