Abstract

ABSTRACT The environment hazards resulting from intensive use of synthetic organic crop protection agents, demands that the pest management studies should be biointensive. Environment friendly, safe and compatible approaches paved the way to develop biopesticides. The multiple functional capacities of insect neuropeptides, based on intervention on this system at any level provide opportunities for new insect control strategies. Potential biochemical for insecticidal action like Juvenile hormone, Juvenile hormone esterase, ecdysone, acetyl choline, ion channels and new peptides are discussed in detail.
