Abstract

As the fetal liver occupies the majority of the abdomen at the abdominal circumference (AC) level, it thus plays a major role in the sonographic estimation of fetal weight. Macrosomia in diabetic pregnancies (DM) primarily results from an increase in the AC. Currently, there is little data on fetal liver volumes (FLV) in pregnancies with DM. Our goal was to determine FLV in relation to growth patterns in pregnancies with DM compared to those without.
