Abstract

This study aims to investigate prospective elementary teachers' experiences with a dynamic mathematics software called Geogebra. Thirty-eight second-year prospective elementary teachers from an elementary teacher study program from a public university in Riau, Indonesia, participate in this study. They engage in constructing a triangle shape for the given area of a triangle using the Geogebra applet and then explaining their first experience in that task. The findings reveal that some prospective teachers could construct the triangle shape correctly and provide positive views and experiences to that task. While understanding the relationship between the triangle figure and the formula becomes a central point for the prospective elementary teachers after experiencing the given task.
