Abstract

The Brazilian Amazon is home to vast plant wealth, presenting potential for the development of the bioeconomy linked to direct benefits for the communities that inhabit and are guardians of this forest. There are many challenges to making the commercialization of Amazon products viable in formal markets, but there are open paths for this journey and herbal medicines have attracted increasing attention in this journey. This work mapped communities in protected areas as well as those close to the urban center in the Médio Solimões region, with the intention of collecting and identifying species that appear on ANVISA lists, as well as capturing, through interviews, the perception of community residents regarding their use. and marketing them. 56 interlocutors from 8 locations were interviewed, with a total of 340 samples, 102 species of which 21 are on different ANVISA lists.
