Abstract

Several second order nonlinear crystals were numerically studied from a point of view of broadband ultrashort mid-IR pulse generation. The following crystals were considered: AgGaS 2 , AgGaSe 2 , BaGa 2 GeSe 6 , CdGePAs 2 , CdSiP 2 , GaSe, HgGa 2 S 4 , PbIn 6 Te 10 , and ZnGeP 2 . Crystal properties responsible for efficient frequency conversion were estimated.
