Abstract

The Kiel Intonation Model for German and its INFOVOX text-to-speech implementation are outlined. The generative basis of the model, its pragmatic, semantic and syntactic environment, the macroprosodic stress and intonation and the microprosodic articulation-related rules are discussed. Symbolic feature and parametric rules are presented in verbalized form. The use of the TIS implementation as a research tool is illustrated.
