Abstract

Antioxidant activities of essential oil from Clausena anisata (Wild) Hook . The volatile oil from leaves of Clausena anisata (Rutaceae) collected at Akassato (Benin) were obtained by hydrodistillation and analysed by GC and GC/MS. The major constituents were methyl-chavicols: estragole (66.2%) and ( E)-anethole (17.6%). The radical scavenging ability and antioxidant activity of samples were found to be very close to those of the reference compounds. To cite this article: F. Avlessi et al., C. R. Chimie 7 (2004) .
