Abstract
Before Hydraulic-fracturing operations, a pre-analysis of proppant's interaction with cored reservoir-rock can significantly contribute in selection of proppant type. In this study, a new equipment and corresponding test method is discovered for onsite testing of a monolayer proppant pack in fracture. Experimental study of reduction in fracture width, permeability and fracture conductivity of a fracture containing monolayer proppant pack with increase in closure-pressure has been carried out. The developed apparatus maintains and measures the fluid flow rate through the apparatus, while a required closure-pressure up-to 65.5MPa is developed on the proppant pack. Variations in parameters with respect to increasing closure-pressure are determined and analyzed.
