Abstract

In order to succeed, interactive dashboards need to satisfy users and produce a pleasant user experience. There are various studies exploring on User-Experience (UX) and Usability in different domains. As user experience plays a significant role in the development of business intelligence solutions, most of the studies are related to the evaluation of UX in BI dashboards, but very few studies focused on UX with Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards in terms of design and development. So, lack of UX in BI development will make the users suffer and struggle to understand and will not be able to fully benefit from the dashboard. So, there is a need for UX design in dashboard development. The aim of this study is to propose a new UX model for the design and development of Business intelligence dashboards in terms of decision-making. By conducting Literature Review as a methodology, we identified the components of the UX and BI dashboard and based on the elements we identified, we proposed a UX model for the design and development of the BI dashboard in terms of decision making. The proposed model will be evaluated in future work.
