Abstract

The European Space Agency (ESA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have issued an international announcement of opportunity to solicit scientific investigations for two missions that together constitute the Solar Terrestrial Science Programme (STSP). T h e missions are Cluster, a set of four identical spacecraft that will study basic plasma processes in the earth's magnetosphere, and SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory), a spacecraft to study solar processes and solar‐terrestrial relationships. Proposals are solicited from scientists in the ESA member nations, Canada, and the United States.
