Abstract

The 1967–68 ASCH Committee on Education and Training prepared a series of proposals, and, via a questionnaire, solicited opinions about them from psychological, medical, and dental samples of the ASCH membership. Responses were received from 57 subjects, i.e., 76% of the total sample. The mean and median ratings for each proposal were presented for the three professional disciplines and for the combined sample. In general, the membership supported the proposals; the only exception dealt with the need for knowledge of psychoanalysis as a prerequisite to training in clinical hypnosis. The Committee sets forth the proposals as possible stimuli for additional research on factors highlighted by this survey.
