Abstract

In recent years, the number of IoT (Internet of Things) devices has increased rapidly, and the bandwidth in the ISP might be caused by the packet delay or the packet loss. Therefore, this paper proposes the QoS control systems using OpenFlow in the heterogeneous wireless network consisted of Cable Networks such as ISP, LANs such as Wireless Mesh Network (WMN), and IoT wireless network. In details, first of all, it is introduced that the routing function based on the extended 3GPP QCI for IoT networks. Here, the IoT devices are classified into the four categories according to the traffic patterns of the IoT device, and the proper route is selected by the proposed policies. Secondly, it is introduced that the network switching functions in order to distribute the traffic loads if there are the possibilities to have network congestions. In the experiment, the prototype system is used for the evaluation of the policy-based routing and switching controls, and the results suggest that the proposed methods confirm the load distribution of the traffic.
