Proposal of Price Presentation by Smartphone Application for Reducing Food Loss

Abstract

In recent years, food disposal and food loss are becoming a social problem. Among them, attention is focused on reducing food loss. Food loss refers to the disposal of parts that were originally usable in food disposal. It is leave to eat, excessive removal, expiration date etc. Therefore, we proposed a smartphone application that displays different prices according to the expiration date in order to reduce food loss. We also made an evaluation using the utility of consumers. Recently, devices that display different prices according to expiration dates have been developed and service experiments that add points are also being conducted. In this paper, we present a new smartphone application which improved the price presentation method and evaluate its effect.
