Abstract
In this paper we propose a Smart Intelligent Pedestrian cross walk system, based on the IoT concept, to address the existing problems of typical accidents which lead to untimely death of people who tried to cross pedestrian walk and collision of cars on the traffic intersections. After examining the degree of violation on traffic and pedestrian rules, and the risk associated with it, we tried to propose a conceptual prototype model as a solution to such problems. In this report, our data was collected from both primary and secondary sources, for example, through observation of pedestrian crossing and traffic intersection movements or signals and information gathered from the previous journal articles, and from internet, in addition to some other sources, direct observation, journals, and internet. Moreover, an ethnographic method was applied to gather the information and the findings from the previous studies. Our findings were supported by the previous results on journals articles. Eventually, our proposed framework can be suitable to address the traffic and pedestrian problems in urban areas. Also, the approach proposed in this study can provide groundwork for future and further studies.
