The literature’s depiction of tourism attractiveness as a complex system falls short of its interrelated and dynamic reality. The proposed perspective is an epistemological inquiry that promotes a constructivist method to analyzing researchers’ discourse. On the one hand, a thematic analysis is developed to bring out the relevant themes of a corpus; on the other hand, a “conceptualizing categories” analysis is developed to offer the first elements of theorizing a phenomenon.
