Abstract

The indiscriminate expansion of the city caused a negative impact on the residential environment due to the destruction of the natural water circulation system. As a solution an eco-friendly plan for water conservation and water quality improvement is being implemented. In Korea, while the focus is on building water bodies to ensure water quantity, the integrated rainwater management of watershed units from the roof to the river for the water quality is overlooked. This study demonstrated the necessity of introducing bioswales, a natural connection technology element of the Green Infrastructure, into the residential complex as a solution to the problem. For reference, 26 items for sustainability were derived from the theory of LID, landscape ecology, ecosystem services and related national official records. The value of bioswales was evaluated by comparing items derived from the natural bioswales and the artificial waterway, which are similar structures to the city
