Abstract

We describe a less conventional form of physiotherapy anagement of a patient with severe neuromuscular disease, ulbar dysfunction with ineffective cough and copious airway ecretions resulting in respiratory failure and lobar collapse. ontrary to standard recommendations for practice, optimal ecretion clearance was achieved by initially avoiding the ide-lying position and using two therapists for cough augentation and suctioning. This case report should generate deas for further research.
