Abstract
The debilitating effects of the innate immune system by the prophylactic use of chloroquine are discussed in this paper. TLRs require the acidic environment of endosomes to produce antiviral effects. Chloroquine antiviral actions partially attributed to increment in pH of endosomes. Therefore, we suppose that use of chloroquine for prophylaxis of COVID-19 can facilitate initiation and development of COVID-19.
