RETRACTED ARTICLE: Prophylactic Effect of BIO-1211 Small-Molecule Antagonist of VLA-4 in the EAE Mouse Model of Multiple Sclerosis

Immunological Investigations, 44(7), 694–712. https://doi.org/10.3109/08820139.2015.1085391 Following publication of the article, concerns were raised about the duplication of images in Figures 3 and 4. Specifically, for Figure 3 the EAE, CD45 DAPI image and Sham, CD11b DAPI, images are duplicated, as are the CD45 DAPI, Vehicle, NTZ and NTZ+BIO1211 images. For Figure 4, all the β-actin images appear to be the same. The authors did respond to our queries but were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the duplicated images or provide satisfactory original data. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article and the authors were notified of this. The authors do not agree with the retraction. We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and COPE guidelines. The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted.”
