Abstract

1. 1. The properties of tRNA nucleotidyltransferase from Ehrlich tumor cells were studied. 2. 2. The enzyme catalyzed the incorporation of only CMP and AMP into tRNA from CTP and ATP, respectively. UTP and GTP were not utilized as substrates. 3. 3. The ratio of CMP incorporation to AMP incorporation under optimal conditions was 6 as opposed to the theoretical ratio of 2. 4. 4. Nearest neighbor studies indicated that there was significant incorporation of CMP next to all four nucleotides although CP and AMP were the major ‘neighbors’. AMP was incorporated principally next to CMP.
