Abstract

Measurements of the nonlinear dielectric effect (NDE) have been performed in a broad temperature range, of the order of 100 K wide, for critical solutions of nitrobenzene in n-octane, octadecane and eicosane. A particular case was that of the eicosane solution where the background effect was considerable less than in the other solutions. Even if the background effect is neglected, the experimental data may be described by a power law dependence with an exponent of approximately 0.4.
