Abstract
We have investigated the long-range alpha (LRA) fission neutrons of ${\mathrm{Cf}}^{252}$ in a four-parameter correlation experiment and found the behavior of the average number of neutrons as a function of fragment mass and total fragment kinetic energy to be very similar in binary and LRA fission. We concluded that binary and LRA fission have essentially the same scission configuration and discuss the mechanism of alpha emission and the fragment stiffness coefficients also.
