Abstract

Carbo- and heterochain tetrazole-containing polyelectrolytes are synthesized via a sequence of cyanoethylation reactions followed by azidation of cyanoethyl derivatives of cellulose and poly(vinyl alcohol). The products exhibit properties typical for polymers containing N-H unsubstituted tetrazole cycles.
