Abstract

Using EHD pumps arranged a pseudo-doughnut electrode against a grounded plane or sphere electrode, the flow in the liquid circulatory system was examined. When a dc voltage was applied to the electrode, the liquid circulated soundlessly and slowly through an insulating pipe of the circulatory system. The special nozzle in which was termed spiral nozzle was designed in order to create a more effective liquid flow. This nozzle can make the spiral structure of liquid jets emerging from the outlet of nozzle. The fluid frictions which act on the circulating liquid can be decreased by the spiral liquid jet. In this paper, the spiral structure of jets has been analyzed using the basic equations of fluid mechanics.
