Abstract

1. Finned tubing of steel 12Kh1MF obtained by extrusion and by extrusion followed by hot precision forging meets the requirements of MRTU 14-4-21-67 in terms of structure and short-term mechanical properties. 2. The strength characteristics after precision forging, normalization, and tempering are higher than for the extruded metal, with approximately the same ductility: σb = 57 kg/mm2, σ0.2 = 42 kg/mm2, and δ=29% after precison forging; σb = 50 kg/mm2, σ0.2 = 38 kg/mm2, δ=30.2% after extrusion. 3. With the same time to failure after extrusion forging the ductility, especially in long-term tests, is considerably higher after precision forging.
