Abstract
Structural and thermodynamic properties of the perfectly ordered Gay-Berne model are calculateded. Applying perturbation methods we try to establish a relation between the soft Gay-Berne potential and the hard-core potential of ellipsoids of revolution. The determination of the axial parameters of the ellipsoid is the main task and also influences the structural properties of our model.
