Abstract

Due to its properties, vitamin C is one of the most popular ingredients in cosmetic products. It is found in ampoules, serums, masks, or creams. Depending on the form of the vitamin that is contained in a particular product, its action may differ. The aim of this article was to collect the latest information and analyze the results of studies on the effects of different forms of vitamin C on the skin. Vitamin C is one of the leading substances used in beauty salons as well as in-home care. It exhibits a strong antioxidant effect, protects the skin against the appearance of premature signs of skin aging, and is used in the treatment of the discoloration. There are also published reports on the use of vitamin C in therapies supporting the treatment of cancer.
