Abstract

Fourier series, whose basic idea is that a time signal can be decomposed into a sum of an orthogonal set of sines and cosines, plays a fundamental role in signal s and systems analysis. In this paper, waveform synthesis is discussed based another orthogonal set-the Walsh functions. For discontinuous waveform synthesis, the conclusion shows that Walsh series obviously has potential advantages comparing to the Fourier series.
