Abstract

The propagation of twisted Gaussian Schell-model (TGSM) beams passing through a misaligned first-order optical system is studied. The explicit expressions for the cross-spectral density function and Wigner distribution function of the output beam are derived. As a result, generalized partially coherent beams called the decentred twisted Gaussian Schell-model (DTGSM) beams are introduced and their properties are discussed.
