Abstract

Based on the extended Huygens–Fresnel principle, the general analytic expression for the cross-spectral density function of the multi-Gaussian Schell-model beams is derived and used to investigate the spectral densities of multi-Gaussian Schell model beams propagating through oceanic turbulence. With the help of this expression, numerical calculations are illustrated and the results show that the flat intensity profile is destroyed by choosing suitable parameters.
