Abstract
The present paper is devoted to the study of Love wave propagation in an infinite isotropic poroelastic layer bounded between two compressible viscous liquids. The equations of motion of an isotropic poroelastic solid are formulated in the framework of Biot’s theory. An analytical solution for the complex frequency equation of Love waves is derived. The analytical expressions for phase velocity of Love waves are obtained and solved numerically for two materials, namely, sandstone saturated with kerosene and sandstone saturated with water. Further, effect of viscosity is observed by considering several particular cases.
