Abstract

The propagation of ground vibrations induced by moving trains is a basic subject in the research field of environmental vibrations. And it is a complex problem dependent on a lot of factors. Although many researches have been done on this subject, there are still many problems remain unclear. In this paper, the propagation of train-induced vibrations in free field is studied using numerical method. The effects of distance from the railway track, the axle loads of vehicles, the train speed, the characteristics of ground soil, and the depth of bedrock are analyzed. Different trains used in China are considered in the analyses. Two kinds of ground soils and their combinations are used in the calculations.
