Abstract

The propagation of Gaussian beam array through an optical system in turbulent atmosphere is studied in this paper. Analytical propagation formulas for the propagation of a Gaussian beam array through an optical system in turbulent atmosphere are derived based on the extended Huygens–Fresnel diffraction principle. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the propagation property. It is shown that the intensity profile at the receiving plane is significantly affected by the optical system, turbulence intensity and the propagation distance.
