Abstract
The reductive perturbation method is used to investigate the existence of a shock wave in the presence of dust charge fluctuation in a dusty plasma. A Burgers-type equation is obtained for the first-order perturbed potential. The potential and velocity of the shock are obtained. The conditions for the existence of the shock solutions are discussed.
