Abstract

In this paper, we analyzed the distribution of energy flow for dielectric waveguide introduced as defect layers composed of dielectric circular cylinder array with deformed rhombic dielectric structure along a middle layer and investigated the influence of rhombic dielectric structure compared with deformed rhombic dielectric structure by using the propagation constants at the guided area for both TE <sub xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0</sub> and TM <sub xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0</sub> modes.
