Abstract

We look into the novel paradigm of transient communication (TC), where the transmitter or the receiver may be physically transient. As system degradability allows for harmless integration into life and environment, such systems may find important applications in the biomedical and environmental fields. In this paper, we propose a system-dependent geometrically based statistical model (GBSM) to characterize the TC propagation channel, where the scatterer region varies with the antenna transient operational domain (TOD) due to resorption. Important TC channel parameters such as the time-variant transfer function can be derived based on the proposed model.
