Abstract

The propagation and focusing of high-power laser beams, whose field can be treated as a Gaussian random phasor, have been studied in detail by using the generalized Huygens-Fresnel diffraction integral and statistical optics methods. Numerical calculation results have been presented to illustrate the effects of the amplitude modulations and phase fluctuations on the focusing properties of beams.
