Abstract

Acoustic data collected from an array with elements comprised of omni-directional hydrophone sensors co-located with acceleration vector sensor triplets are analyzed for seabed geo-acoustic information. The data were collected during the passage of a surface vessel, the R/V Montague, in an August 2006 experiment conducted in Monterey Bay. Geo-acoustic inversion with the vector sensor acceleration components parallel to the array line of bearing produced a solution approximately identical to the solution obtained from the inversion of the hydrophone array data.
