Abstract

This study examines the synergy between the circular economy, green energy, and resource efficiency, using a decade of Chinese provincial data and advanced System-GMM estimation. Results underscore the pivotal role of efficient resource use in reducing carbon intensity. Conversely, urbanization and industrialization correlate with higher carbon emissions due to increased fossil fuel use. Policy recommendations include incentivizing circular economy adoption, prioritizing renewable energy investments, sustainable urban planning, and promoting cleaner industrial processes. This research highlights the urgency of sustainable practices, renewable energy adoption, and responsible resource management in the global pursuit of lower carbon intensity and enhanced environmental sustainability.
