(Abstracted from Circulation 2018;137(24):e843–e852) Many traditional atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk factors, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia, and obesity, may affect women more than men and in many cases more severely. Cardiovascular mortality is greater in women than in men.
