Abstract: In September 2017, Hurricane Irma struck several Caribbean islands, which suffered catastrophic damage. Anguilla, the most northerly of the Caribbean's Leeward Islands, a developing nation, experienced devastating damage to its social, physical, political, and economic infrastructures. The commentary also considers future approaches that could be beneficial.
