Abstract

Fifty-nine tree species were outplanted at 12 sites representatives of climatic and edaphic areas of Florida. Nearly all species were suitable for operational nursery propagation. Seedling performance of 16 species was promising on one or more sites, with survivals as high as 99% and heights up to 4·6 m in 20 months. Coppice growth of Eucalyptus amplifolia, Platanus occidentails, Sapium sebiferum, Schinus terebinthifolius and Spathodea campanulata was excellent. Species recommended for further study are E. amplifolia, E. camaldulensis, E. tereticornis, Leucaena leicocephala, Liquidambar styraciflua, P. occidentalis and S. sebiferum.
