Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of promethazine combined with Danhong injection for emergency vertigo. Methods The clinical data of 94 patients with emergency vertigo treated from October, 2015 to February, 2017 were analyzed. They were divided into a control group (47 cases) and a study group (47 cases) according to different treatment regimens. The control group were treated with gastrodin, and the study group with promethazine and Danhong injection. The clinical symptom improvement times, adverse reactions ,and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results The improvement times nausea and vomiting, vertigo, walking instability, and deafness and tinnitus were (1.06±0.58)d, (3.47±0.64)d, (3.24±0.59)d, and (2.19±0.88)d in the study group, which were significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistical differences (all P 0.05). The SF-36 scores of psychological function, social function, physiological function, and vitality were (85.68±5.31), (85.96±5.97), (85.11±6.89), and (86.53±6.17) in the study group, which were higher than those in the control group, with statistical differences (all P<0.05). Conclusion Promethazine combined with Danhong injection for emergency vertigo can effectively shorten the symptom improvement times and improve the prognosis, and has a low incidence of adverse drug reactions.
