A prompt resumption of erythropoiesis followed the administration of large doses of adrenocortical steroids in each patient. The direct Coombs test was positive in 2 patients, and in all 4 patients there was evidence of an active hemolytic process. Moderate hypogammaglobulinemia was present in 3 of the patients, and in one of these the administration of gamma globulin was followed by a significant but transient... This content is PDF only.
