Abstract

A mixed-breed cat was presented at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco’s veterinary hospital. The animal showed an irrigated corneal lesion, congestive conjunctiva and touch sensitivity. We carried out tests for pupillary reflexes and the fluorescein test. From those tests, it was found that pupil reflexes remained unchanged and the fluorescein test was negative. Definitive diagnosis was made upon a second visit to the hospital, through observation of corneal material strips taken via swab, scraping and imprint. The definitive diagnosis was Eosinophilic keratoconjunctivitis.
