Abstract
The use of projects constitutes a promising educational alternative, to counteract the traditional educational organization, which is based on specific content, established in programs of each discipline of the school curriculum. Therefore, this study aimed to describe environmental education projects in place and implemented by schools in the state and municipal school system in the city of Macapa, State of Amapa. For both data collection was carried out a bibliographical and documentary research and survey in schools across the ethnographic method using the techniques of informal interviews and participant structured interviews with previously developed and tested forms. The surveyed schools have environmental education projects under his tutelage, and some are in the implementation process, others standing and others have completed. Was ended that a work of environmental education through the methodology of interdisciplinary projects that takes into account the social and environmental problems around the school, seems to be the most appropriate way for the development of environmental citizenship of students, so, a critical awareness and committed to the environment, but it is important to evaluate these projects in order to be clear what kind of environmental education if you want to really effect the proposal becomes a transforming agent and awareness. Unidas sobre o Ambiente Humano, organizado pela Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU), em Estocolmo na Suécia, onde se reuniram representantes de 113 países e foi considerado o marco histórico político internacional e decisivo para o surgimento de políticas de gerenciamento ambiental (DIAS, 2010). O objetivo da pesquisa foi realizar o levantamento do perfil dos projetos de Educação Ambiental implantados e implementados por escolas da rede de ensino estadual e municipal da cidade de Macapá, Estado do Amapá. A escola possuía um projeto de Educação Ambiental que foi finalizado em agosto de 2008, intitulado “Educação ambiental e cidadania”, que teve como objetivo geral “Contribuir para a formação de cidadãos conscientes de suas responsabilidades com o meio ambiente e capazes de atitudes de proteção e melhoria em relação a ele”.
